Mission Statement and Purpose

  • To improve communication between the administration and students
  • To improve communication and provide social interaction between the cohorts
  • To represent the student body as a whole and seek to improve their overall experience at the school

Second Wednesday Seminars

Every second Wednesday of the month, student government brings in a guest speaker or qualified TCTCM student to give a one-hour seminar over lunch on various TCM or health/clinical related topics.

Health fairs and Community Outreach

Student government has attended local health fairs and events in order to spread Chinese Medicine to the community, inform the public about acupuncture and herbs, and to bring in new patients to the student intern clinic. We set up a booth with educational materials and things to look at (such has herbs, textbooks, needle packages) and generally give away coupons for discounted treatments to the intern clinic.

Activities for students

  • Yoga instructed by Heather Bakner, LMT

Heather has experience in practicing many forms and styles of dancing and movement including Tae Kwon Do, ballet, NIA, Capoeria, modern dance, contact improvisation, and yoga.
She is a blue belt NIA instructor, completed the living yoga teacher training, and is a certified Massage Therapist with over 600 hours of training.

  • Meditation instructed by Montserrat

Montserrat led an hour long guided meditation every week based on the principles of the Berkeley Psychic Institute. She took a year long course about managing energy and tools for managing energy.

Facebook

Student government helps manage the school's Facebook account where updates are posted, school and student government events are created and pictures are shared.
