Calculating the Cost of Education

At TCTCM, our awarding process is based on the cost of attendance for 1 academic year or 2 consecutive trimesters, not calendar based years. The standard student budget is constructed using typical costs of students living in the Austin area and the cost of tuition for the academic year. The cost of tuition is based on average unit enrollment of students admitted to full time program in the Oriental Medicine. Full time students in our graduate program normally enroll for 17-22 credit hours or semester.

Below is an assumption budget table for enrollment of minimum 17 credits hours per trimester.  The amounts listed below for everything other than the Tuition, Books, and Fees are only a rough estimate and can vary widely depending on the various needs of the individual student.  TCTCM is located on a main Capital Metro Busline so public transportation from some locations may be a option.

4 Month Budget

Tuition and Fees $4,286

Books and materials $500

Room and Board $4400

Transportation $1140

Personal Expense $1712

Total $12038 / trimester

Other special expenses can be added into the cost of attendance with documentation attached. Examples are: Extraordinary class supplies, disabilities, medical expense, education debt, child care cost. You can check our list of potential fees and expenses here .
